Reaction Studio ("the app," "we," "us") is operated by RaxxWare LLC. This policy explains, in plain English, what data the app handles and your rights over it. We built Reaction Studio to be private by design.
1. Information we collect
Recording and editing happen on your device. We only collect and store information on our servers when you use a feature that requires it. Here's what is handled:
- Videos, recordings, and camera/microphone input โ captured and edited locally on your device. A video is uploaded to our servers only when you choose to post it to the feed, contribute it to a collaboration, or save it to cloud storage.
- Account & profile โ when you use any community or cloud feature, we create an account on our backend keyed to an identifier derived from your Sign in with Apple. Your chosen username, display name, and profile photo are stored so other users can find you. We never receive your Apple password, and receive your email only if Apple provides it.
- Posts, follows, collaborations, and cloud videos โ content and relationships you create through community and cloud features are stored on our backend and associated with your account.
- Purchases โ Apple processes payments; we validate the receipt and record which storage plan you hold. We never see your payment details.
- Photo library access โ used only to let you import videos you choose and to save your finished exports. We cannot see your other photos.
- Projects โ saved locally on your device.
- Advertising data (free version) โ Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to serve ads, only after you allow tracking. See section 3.
2. Device permissions and why we need them
- Camera โ to record your face-cam reaction. Active only while you are recording.
- Microphone โ to record your voice reaction. You can mute it anytime; active only while recording.
- Photo Library โ to import source videos and save exported reaction videos to your camera roll.
- Screen Recording (ReplayKit) โ when you choose the screen-record feature, iOS captures your screen so you can react to content you are viewing. This is initiated and controlled entirely by you, and Reaction Studio never accesses other apps' data or feeds.
You can revoke any permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
3. Third-party services & where data is stored
When you use community or cloud features, uploaded content and account data are stored on our backend, which is hosted by Supabase (database and file storage) and served through Vercel. Access is restricted so you can only reach your own private content and other users' public content. The app also uses these third-party services:
- Google AdMob (advertising) โ the free app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads, under Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data policies. On first launch we ask your permission (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) before any tracking identifier is used. If you decline, you still get the full app with non-personalized ads. Upgrading to Reaction Studio Pro removes ads entirely.
- YouTube Data API โ if you use the optional YouTube search feature, requests go to Google's YouTube Data API under Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple โ Sign in with Apple provides us only an anonymized user identifier (never your email or name unless you choose to share it). Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- Sharing โ when you share an exported video, it is handed to the iOS share sheet and the destination app (e.g. TikTok, Instagram) under that app's own privacy policy.
4. How your information is used
We use your account and uploaded content only to provide the features you use โ showing your posts in the feed, enabling collaborations, storing your cloud videos, and letting other users find and follow your profile. We do not use your content for profiling and do not sell your personal data or engage in data brokering. Advertising data is handled by Google AdMob (advertising identifier, ad interactions, general usage) only after you allow tracking; you can opt out by declining the tracking prompt or disabling it in iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking.
5. Data retention & deletion
On-device projects and media remain until you delete them in the app or uninstall it. Content you upload (posts, cloud videos, collaboration clips, profile) is retained on our backend until you delete it or delete your account. You can delete any post or cloud video individually, or use Settings โ Delete My Account to remove your account and associated content from our servers. Email us to request access to or deletion of your data.
6. Children's privacy
Reaction Studio is rated 18+ and intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated data.
7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You retain control of your content. You can delete your account and the content associated with it โ on your device and on our backend โ at any time from the app's Settings โ Delete My Account, or delete individual posts and cloud videos. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us below. For the advertising data Google AdMob processes, you can opt out of personalized ads via the App Tracking Transparency prompt or iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking, and exercise your GDPR/CCPA rights with Google under their privacy policy. We respond within 48 hours.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
